John Fiske brought The Library Book to the quarry in Vermont where the story begins, May 20, 2006.

John Fiske, a graduate of Trinity College in Hartford, lives in Prides Crossing, Massachusetts with his wife and son. In addition to writing The Library Book, he has revised the Appalachian Mountain Club's River Guides. He plays hockey at least once a week, and is a PADI Divemaster.
